Day 1 — Zanzibar to Mikumi
Your morning begins in the hush of early Zanzibar, where a private transfer carries you to the airport for a scenic flight inland. As Mikumi's plains rise to meet you from the air, the safari begins the moment you land — stepping straight from the airstrip into open bush. The morning unfolds at an unhurried pace, tracking elephant, giraffe and buffalo across sunlit grassland, before pausing for a hot lunch out in the wilderness. As the afternoon deepens, the search continues across the Mkata floodplain, culminating in a dedicated sunset drive as the sky turns amber over the savanna. The day closes with a transfer to Tan Swiss Lodge, where dinner and a restful night await at the edge of the wild.
Day 2 — Mikumi to Zanzibar
Dawn breaks early over Mikumi, and with it comes the best chance to catch the bush at its most alive — a final game drive while the light is soft and the animals are still stirring. Breakfast is taken within the park itself, a rare treat before the safari continues through Mikumi's plains and woodland in search of anything still to be seen. After a midday meal, one last game drive rounds out your time on the ground before the short flight back to Zanzibar, where a private transfer returns you to your hotel by late afternoon.
