Morning
Your adventure begins early in the morning with a hotel pickup and transfer to Zanzibar Airport. Departure times vary between 7:00 am and 8:30 am, and the scenic flight takes approximately two hours. Upon arrival, your safari experience begins right away, as your guide takes you into the heart of Mikumi National Park. Enjoy game drives across the park’s vast landscapes, keeping an eye out for giraffes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and many other incredible species.
Mikumi
Mikumi is one of the many national parks in Tanzania and it is known for its diverse wildlife which includes; giraffes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, hippos, warthogs, common elands, blue wildebeests, crocodiles, leopards and a huge variety of bird species.
Mikumi has different types of vegetation which includes grasslands, woodlands with miombo and acacia trees. It is also famous for its widespread Mkata plains and is surrounded by the Uluguru and Rubeho Mountains.
Lunch is served in the park; it is a buffet with Tanzanian inspired flavours with a mix of continental dishes. The buffet is vegetarian friendly and halal. Soft drinks and drinking water are included.
What to wear and bring
You can wear anything you are comfortable in. Bring your sunscreen and insect repellents. You can also bring a jumper during cold season (June-July) or raincoats during rain seasons (March-May).
